The User Research Round-Up: CW 21
Research week, difficult conversations, inclusivity in quant, headspace during work, UXR job board
Hello curious human!
I’ve just finished packing for Prague — I’m speaking at WebExpo next week and am super excited (if you grab a ticket, you can use the code NIKKI25 for a 15% discount). I’ve been to Prague once before but am really stoked to be visiting again and meeting so many amazing people.
With that said, work still continues on, as always, and I just brought on a new client who has never done user research before. So, naturally, we are starting low-lift with a survey. Since they’ve never done this work before, they didn’t have access to any tools and, after years of manual survey work, I couldn’t bring myself to go down that route since I’m traveling and juggling other work, so I’m popping the survey into Sprig. Not only does it make it easier to create, but Sprig’s insight dashboards are visually stunning and make it easy to share with people who are newer to UXR.
So, if you are sick of doing surveys manually or just want to experiment with a new tool, I highly recommend trying Sprig:

Research Week (Event) by Learners
Research Week is coming up, and it’s packed with thoughtful sessions across different corners of UX. I’m especially looking forward to the mix of hands-on advice and bigger-picture thinking, from methods and career paths to how research is shifting across teams. It’s the kind of line-up that gives you energy and sharpens your thinking at the same time. If you’re feeling stuck or just want to connect with others in the field, this will be a good one to tune into.
